Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Formed in 1904, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is a
world-wide prestigious dance society committed to maintaining
international dance standards. It and its U.S. affiliate, the
United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, make it possible
for the public to find quality Ballroom dance instruction.
Every
member of the ISTD or the USISTD has passed either a Professional or
Certification exam. These rigorous exams test the applicant
on his or her skill level, knowledge of dance theory, technical
analysis, and practical demonstration of dance technique. To
become members of the ISTD, Dana and Stacy submitted to the
scrutiny of an examiner who tested them on their teaching abilities as
well as their understanding of technique.
As members of
the ISTD, Dana and Stacy uphold the high standards of the Society in
both their personal teaching and by training their instructors to the
same standards they maintain themselves.
